Sick newborn?

My husband had what we are assuming is a chest cold he had a cough and just a bunch of congestion. Now my baby who is a week and 4 days old seems to be a little congested she’s eating fine and doesn’t have a temp i suctioned out her nose but it seems as if the congestion is in her throat if that makes sense she just seems stuff with how she sounds. Do you just let it ride out I’m a ftm and I’m stressing out about it.

Steam can help break up the mucus. I would suggest bringing baby in the bathroom when you or your partner showers so they inhale the heat/steam. After that the rubber nose suction thing works really well

I stressed hard about this very thing. Went to the doctors like 4 times telling me they couldn’t do anything lol. I’d suggest getting a bathroom full of hot steam from the shower and continue to suction their nose. I’d also get a saline spray too which is the only thing the pediatricians recommend to use. It can help break up the mucus.

Saline nose drops,suction, taking them in the steamy bathroom and cool mist humidifier in the bedroom especially when sleeping is about all you can do. It is also very common for babies to get congested around a month old, they are getting used to all the things in the air that they are breathing in, especially when the season is changing and you have all new things in the air, so it may not even be related to whatever your partner has going on.
