2.5cm dilated and had stretch and sweep

Hi so u l went into hospital tonight to originally have balloon induction just for them to say they couldn't do it because it turns out I'm 2.5cm dilated so instead they've done a stretch and sweep and I've been sent home I've never had this before but they said I either need go back up if my Waters break or I have regular contractions and if not then to come back at 6am tomorrow. But just wondering what everyone elses experience with a stretch and sweep was like and how quickly they went into labor after? I'm 36+6 but will be 37 weeks tomorrow they were inducing because she hasn't grown and is only measuring at 4.2 pound but yeah I've never had a stretch and sweep or gone into labor on my own before so just curious
