Would I be overreacting to take him to the hospital?

My son is turning 2 in 13 days. In January-February, he had back to back bad double ear infections. Each time, he had high fevers, very sluggish, slept allll the time if you let him, wouldn’t really eat or drink, needed constant medicine, etc. He started showing signs of this again yesterday and had a fever, but I was going to wait until next day to make sure it wasn’t a 24 hour thing. Well it’s been 24 hours and still the same thing. Between his fevers getting pretty high the last time he had an infection, his behaviors while feeling unwell, and his history of infections, I want to take him to the hospital instead of having him wait for his pediatrician on Monday. But would I be overreacting?
