Why would someone have anxiety about spending one on one time with people but not in a group? A guy friend of mine isn't comfortable spending time with one person. He likes to do everything with groups of friends. Not just about me but with any of his friends, he doesn't feel comfortable with one on one. What in the world would you call that?

Because when it’s one on one, there is more pressure for direct communication. In a group, you can kind of blend in or join a conversation that’s already happening. With one on one, it’s more personal and you’d have to start a few conversations.

i get anxiety one on one vs in a group. in a group setting, the pressure of avoiding awkward interactions is off me because there’s more people to take the lead. one on one i feel like there’s a lot more pressure to avoid awkwardness and keep the conversation going 😅
