Does teething get any easier?

My son (7 months) has had rough nights the last week straight. Last night was the worst by far, up every hour or 2. Well this morning his first tooth broke through! 
he was SO SO SOOO miserable while this one was coming in, night and day. My question is, Does it get easier after the first one? Are they always in this much pain and miserable for all the rest of their teeth? 
If so, we’re in for a lot of sleepless nights 😅
Also, how long after your little one got their first did their 2nd bottom one come in?

My kids were not happy teething babies. They wouldn’t sleep without pain meds and were so fussy when cutting teeth. Some kids do better than others! My son is 2.5 and cutting his last two molars and is miserable and I’ll be happy when it’s done with
