My new boyfriend’s apartment is a filthy mess

I recently was invited by my new bf to his apartment for dinner. Now let me start by saying my boyfriend is very smart, he has a great career and education, he works full time and works out everyday and he is a nice person. He has good personal hygiene, but his apartment is a little.. messy and neglected. I was so surprised. He invited me for dinner, I walk in and see clutter everywhere. Cups all over the counter, things sprawled out on the floor, the placement of the furniture was random. He had no dining table (he can definitely afford it haha) I guess he just eats at the couch. I didn’t get to see his bedroom because he didn’t show me. He lives alone. I could’ve ignored the clutter but then I went to the bathroom and.. yeaaa. There was random scraps of toilet paper on the floor, the toilet had a black rim where the water line is. The seat was dirty. The sink was dirty. Looked like there was mold in the toilet🤮 he’s been in the apartment a year and it looks like it’s never been cleaned! I didn’t say anything because our relationship is very new. But he didn’t even try to clean up before I got there. I don’t know what to do! I like him a lot but I’m a very clean person. I could not live with that.. I want to make it work tho🥹what should I do? I feel like it’s too early in the relationship to tell him what he should do..
