Question about lesbians

I’ll preface this with the fact that I am not trying to be ignorant, so I apologize if I word this wrong, I’m just trying to understand better.

Lesbian couples, there is typically one who dresses/acts more masculine, some to the point that you may think they are indeed a male person.

My question, how are women attracted to a masculine looking women and not just a man themselves? If you’re with someone who resembles a male, is that not just like being attracted to a male?

Again, I do apologize if this is not worded properly, I’m just trying to understand.
