I got my hopes up…

My aunt inherited my grandmothers house (who is still alive) my father passed away when I was a child, but he was supposed to inherit the house.

My aunt told me she will rent the house to me and my family (my husband and 3 kids) for $2,000 and that includes utilities (AMAZING DEAL) it’s been updated and has an acre of land with it. I was so excited. She said since I’m family she will give me that deal and we can move in next month.

Now today she tells me she can rent the house to me for $2,000 a month, but that she misspoke and cannot include utilities. The house is paid off and she allowed my brother to live there rent free for a few years. So I’m a little upset.

We pay the same amount where we rent now and pay a lot for the utilities so we’d be paying the same amount. So it’s not worth moving since it’s the same amount.

I will say that I like that house much better than where we rent now. It has a bigger yard, a dishwasher, and it’s updated. It’d also be 15 minutes closer to my husbands job. But moving is so stressful so I don’t see the point since we’d be paying the same amount.

I’ve been praying about if we should move there though, but right now I just feel let down by my aunt even though she really didn’t do anything.

I’m just frustrated. I was so excited about it and felt like ranting…
