Too late for circumcision?

My baby boy is 6 months. At birth we were told by the pediatrician in the hospital he didn’t have enough foreskin to be cut and doctor was afraid of infection or bleeding and said to wait a few months—2 to 3. That topic wasn’t brought up since but we might be given the OK now. If you were in my position would you still go through with it at 6 months of age ? What was your experience with your son with circumsicion ?

I wouldn’t (and didn’t). Doesn’t sound medically necessary.

Cicumsicion can be done later but its a much bigger deal, surgery is actual surgery. They will need to put him under and healing is quite a bit more difficult.

Most Europeans aren't circumcised. I still don't know why it's imperative in some other countries.

Why though? It’s unnecessary and he’s doing fine the way he is. I wouldn’t do it

My son was circumcised at birth. We felt the benefits outweighed the risks. I’m honestly not sure how it would be with a 6 month old, but my brother was a toddler when he had it done due to somehow getting very wrapped up in the mesh insert from a pair of swim trunks. His recovery was pretty bad, but his situation was also not typical. I don’t know that I’d do it, but your doctor should be able to answer any questions you have. You could always ask on somewhere like Reddit if anyone has experience.

I wouldn’t. It’s an unnecessary procedure, so why bother putting him through the discomfort?

Not to late, ik some people who get it done at one. But I definitely will be getting my sons done before we go home. Easier when they can’t touch it and heals before they can.
