Boyfriend crying

My boyfriend was raised that men and boys don't cry. That's how his dad raised him. The typical a boy is only allowed to express anger and pride. I went to visit him today and he was trying so hard not to cry. He ask me to leave because he didn't want me to see him like that and I told him it's okay to cry. He started crying saying he's so tired. And he's tired of being tired. I let him cry but idk how to help.
