Have you ever had a near-serious injury/worse experience with your child?

Like them almost getting hit by a car or almost drowning?

We were walking home from the store today and he (4) always walks great, but out of nowhere today he just darted across the sidewalk in front of me and started into the middle of a busy road. He said he saw a cricket jump into the street and wanted to catch him. I’m so shaken up and feel like the worst parent ever right now.

My youngest would find and then try to eat change. Like, pennies and nickels. I would find out because he'd come up to me, choking and then vomit the change into my hands. THEN he'd get insulted when i didn't give it back!! I swear, toddlers and young kids are out to end themselves on the daily. My oldest was also a dasher. I didn't want to risk it anymore and caved and got the backpack with the leash. It got me lots of nasty kids from other adults but screw it, my kids survived their younger years and are now teenagers. My husband's cousin should have died at the Grand Canyon when she was little if it weren't for her backpack and leash. She climbed past a barrier and fell into the canyon. Only thing that saved her was that her dad was holding that leash with a death grip because she was also a dasher.
