UTI GUIDE FROM A LONG TIME SUFFERER
It's that time girlies we have our regular UTI reminder.
Everyone has different experiences and this personally works for me, if you feel like you resonate with my advice or isn't a complicated UTI or IC - this could change the game for you.
UTI GUIDE FROM A GIRL WHO GETS THEM FROM SEX:
- Hiprex (depending how your body responds is dependent how your doctor will advise you take this).
I personally lowered my dose initially and built up as I'm a sensitive coochie girly.
Week 1 - (8 days easier to split tablets).
1/2 Hiprex AM/PM
Week 2: - (8 days easier to split tablets).
1 Hiprex AM
1/2 Hiprex PM
Week 2:
1 Hiprex AM
1 Hiprex PM
A lot of GPs no longer prescribe this, in any instance I would ask my GP for it. If they say no, if possible try a different DR within your surgery if possible.
If not, you can buy this online as a private prescription but I under no means medically recommend this as you never know how it will affect you.
But again, i'm not doctor i'm just a girl with a sensitive urethra and want ANSWERSSS.
- D-Mannose: 1000mg I have one AM and one PM I take this everyday regardless of UTI as it encourages the bacteria to stick to it! DMannose is good for ecoli infections.
- Probiotic: Wellsgaurd probiotic AM - (The most effective multi-strain probiotics contained lactobacilli, bifidobacteria and enterococci strains, thus proving that most effective probiotics against E. coli strains are the lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria).
- Vitamin C (long release): I take this with my PM Hiprex to ensure my urine is acidic enough after a day of eating etc.
- Trimethoprim 100mg: I was prescribed this as a preventative for after sex, I take this with my other concoction.
- PEE AFTER SEX.
As someone who never or rarely was hydrated enough to pee after sex a lot I NOTICED A HUGE difference when I started doing this - drinking water all day everyday does suck OK I'll be the first to say, anyone that suggests chugging water sometimes it's just hard.
Volvic sugar free strawberry water gives a bit of taste easier to drink.
VERY DILUTED squash - ideally sugar free.
Also using a warm hot wash cloth to clean the area OR if I feel particular unclean I will spritz myself with the shower head no soap just a spray, and fresh pants!
Try drink enough before bed but not enough to wake you up so you can pee in the morning, also try both feet on the floor no leg crossing and leaning forwards slightly to get as much urine out as possible!
- Washing my bootyhole after going for 2.
(This reduces chances of eColi getting spread around).
Putting toilet paper in the toilet before I do a 2... this stops any toilet water splash back and all things in the toilet stay there.
Using LUBE to reduce friction during sex, friction is the enemy and so is missionary for UTIs and bacteria.
Ideally a water based one that's free from silicone and parabens is best.
