Bleeding all the time combo pill

Prior to children, I was on the combo pill no issues. I have been on the combo pill for 5 months and have experienced bleeding almost all the time. Not spotting, bleeding enough for a regular tampon and to change every few hours. I have had my BC changed to one where breakthrough bleeding was very very low percentage and now I’m bleeding again. Is this an age thing? My body just saying not for me? I’m almost 35…has anyone not had the combo pill work well for them as they age? I’m so tired of being on my period nonstop.
