pls help i’m confused

hey so i’m on birth control pills. i’m doing it for birth control and to help regulate period cramps. my gyn told me to skip the placebo pills and go straight to the next pack to stop my period from coming. it’s going on month 3 so i thought it would be regulated by now but i just got my period like a week ago and it’s still here. it’s a lot longer than it usually is off of bc and i’m just wondering how long it’ll last or why i got my period because i thought it would go away by now? pls help thank you!!!
