brown spotting at 5 weeks

I noticed some brown discharge yesterday at work and then it stopped, it’s a little more consistent today. No red or pink, just brown. Should I be concerned? Or is this normal ? My first appointment is scheduled for the 28th with no earlier appointments at the moment. I’ve read that brown spotting is very common with early pregnancies and i’ve had no cramps or any pain in my lower region. Should I just go take a trip to the hospital just to be safe ?
