baby blues?

I’m not sure if this is normal or not but I have a just now 3 week old I love him but I feel like I’m not a good mom or I’m not taking care of him correctly. Obviously i do everything right (change him, feed him, bathe him etc.3) but I feel like he doesn’t like me lol. I know it sounds crazy but when my family watches him or helps me everything goes so much smoother for them when I do the same thing. I feel like a bad mom or like I wasn’t meant to be a mom. I’m not sure if me being freshly 21 and very little experience with babies is the reason but it’s so frustrating feeling like I can’t do anything right. ARE THESE FEELINGS NORMAL ?

Your family might have more experience with children which puts them more at ease. You will get more comfortable with it as more time passes, and your baby will detect that.

Carrie this gets better I promise ❤️ you are a wonderful mom! Your little one loves you most in the world and your hormones are so out of wack it makes it hard for you to see. Give yourself some grace. I had Postpartum depression and couldn’t even recognize it myself until one day the fog lifted and I realized I was struggling with jt! PPD ranges in severity and sometimes lasts a few weeks to months. For me it was a couple months and the sleep deprivation did not help matters. What you described is how exactly how I felt I just never talked to anyone about it. You’d be amazed how many women feel the same way…my friend group all talked about This now that we are 1 year plus postpartum and so many of us suffered with these thoughts to some degree. Hand in there!! Gather your tribe, get some support and just remember that believe it or not if the baby’s basic needs are covered you are doing great. This is extremely difficult but your doing it!!

My baby is only 7 days old, but I have felt exactly the same as times, I have no experience with babies. My mum and my partners mum are so good with him, and he is just so calm when they are changing him, burning him etc. I definitely think it's due to experience and how confident they are with him, I am sure he can sense it. I gave found the more stressed or anxious I am the more stressed he seems to be. You are doing everything right, your confidence will grow and you with both start to being more calm. It might be worth asking for any tips, or seeing what they do. For example my baby hates his nappy being changed, but my mum massaged his legs, which he loves. So now when I am changing him I have been doing it and it's a lot more smooth and pleasant experience for us both.
