I’m 41, my partner is 39. Between us we have a 17 year old, 8 year old, 7 year old and doing IVF for number 4. We both work full time. 
Sex is a priority in our relationship and we certainly prioritise it. We always have sex in the morning and once or twice before sleeping. My partner is a bit of a marathon man so sessions are 30 to 45 minutes. Even if we are tired we still do it because once we start we always enjoy it and it helps us to feel connected. 
We also prioritise date night once a week - now that’s not easy! The 17 year old does not babysit - it’s not her job to raise siblings. We are lucky enough to work with grandparents to make it happen. 
We also have a housekeeper for 2 hours a week. This drastically reduces the cleaning we need to do so we have more time for each other. He’s also a very involved dad, does lots around the house (probably more than me as he works from home & I work out of the house).
We also have at least two vacations a year without kids (only 5 to 7 days long) but it’s a great chance to connect with each other. 
I think all these things contribute to our sex lives, although I’ve pointed out things will change with a new baby! 😂

We have sex anywhere between every day and once a week depending on what's going on in our lives. We have a recently turned 3 year old, a 22 month old, I'm pregnant, and my husband works 14-16 hours most days. During a sleep regression there's not much sex. When the kids are sleeping well and my husband worked a 12-14 hour day then we'll have sex. We both initiate just as much as one another. Neither of us have any insecurities when it comes to sex since we've been together since we were 15. We don't have any insecurities around each other at all for any reason. We don't prefer alone time at all. It is so incredibly rare for one of us to not be in the mood when the other isn't that it's been a non-issue and we just cuddle. As my husband says, "why would I waste my time with my hand when I can spend that time and energy being intimate with my stunning wife."
