Toddler keeps hitting head

Okay, I need to hear out some experienced moms who’ve dealt with overactive 1 year olds. My son is in a phase right now where he will literally just be standing or walking around my living room and do a trust fall backwards flat on his back and head. We have wood floors, vinyl with some dead space under so it’s not extremely hard but it’s freaking me out!! He’ll do this multiple times a day, hit his head super hard, cry then get up and run around again. Sometimes I have to pick him up to calm him but then he’s better within a few minutes. But this can’t be good for his brain!! I’m not sure!?
