Why is the job application process so fucked!

Update: I have an interview. Recruitment agencies are crap unfortunately I had no choice but to work with them on this application as the company have decided to work through them on this initial stage. Fingers crossed all goes well from here and I hopefully I no longer have to deal with the agency.

I need some advice on a job I recently applied for. I feel like one wrong move when I comes to interacting with managers or recruitment could mean you’re out of a chance getting the job so I need some advice please 😊

Okay so to try and keep a long story short I applied for a job through a recruitment agency. I messaged then asking for an update a couple of weeks later. I got a call from the agency asking for more of my details and to let me know more about the role and that the company want a quick turn around so interviews are likely starting the following week.

A couple of days later I got another call from her and she told me the company thinks I will be good for a different role that they are yet to advertise. She told me about the role and I said it sounds good. She told me she’d email me the full job description and to let her know if I’m still interested.

I emailed her back asap and said I was interested. This was last Thursday (26th Oct). I emailed her on Monday and asked for an update on this new role because she never emailed me back. I’ve received nothing since, it’s now Friday. This new role has now been put online by the agency and is now open for applications.

Basically I’m worried I might be left behind but I’m also worried about being to bothersome.

Should I email the agency again as I’ve not heard from them in a week (and she seemed pretty keen for me to go for this new role) or should I just wait?

I feel like making the wrong move could jeopardise my chances.

To note, I haven’t physically applied for this new role through the agency as they already have all my details and I assumed she put me forward for it after our phone call.
