Do you expect your teachers to give your kids Christmas parties

This mom isn't understanding why I'm not throwing my 4th graders a Christmas party. I don't have the money for that and I would feel bad sending out things asking parents to contribute because it's a low income school. When the time comes we will watch a movie but she says a good teacher would want her students to be happy and put students first .... Ma'am. I make 32,000 a year and already am buying my own school supplies. Also don't care who I piss off by saying this but my students will never be my first priority. I have kids. Why would someone else's kids be my first priority. But she's so mad that her baby isn't going to get a Christmas party. Ma'am we haven't even made it to Thanksgiving.
