Getting out of the denial
We used to defend ourselves by looking for someone or something to blame whenever awful things happened to us.
Sometimes we protect ourselves by passing judgement or jumping right into the fix-it mode.
Everything happened because we were scared of getting hurt.
What just happened to us makes us terrified. It is the process of entering the stage of denial. If things go worse, the blame game begins.
This has prevented us from moving forward, which is extremely harmful to our mental health.
To begin with, we must accept the truth of the situation.
There is no right or wrong, no judgement here, and whatever happened has already happened.
You just have to admit it before you start blaming everybody, including yourself.
You need to become more aware of how you feel before, during, and after engaging in unhealthy habits if you want to be aware of when you’re doing so.
Talk to a close friend or loved one who might be able to provide an honest, honest view.
