Did you get check at your 6 weeks pp visit ?

I’m at my 6 week pp visit and the dr told me it was optional to get checked down there. I did have a 2nd degree tear but I told her no, should I have said yes ? Did anyone else here not get checked and went ahead and still had sex ? She told me it was safe to start having sex but now im like maybe I should’ve said yes 🥲 why am I like this 🥲🥲🥲

With my second baby they asked if I wanted to be checked, I said yes. Just wanted the peace of mind. With my third baby, I was due for a pap at my 6 week check up so I didn’t really get an option. I didn’t tear with my third baby, but I did a little with my second.

I've had 2 different obs with my babies and both did a vaginal check then also checked my stomach muscles as well as talked about mental health, how my relationship was going/if I needed resources, breastfeeding, general concerns, and talked about the future as far as birth control/family planning. She also gave me a folder with all sorts of resources incase I needed them from pelvic floor therapists to post natal massage places to lactation consultants. Appt was about 30-45 minutes.

I got checked because I had a precipitate labor and bled quite a bit, plus I had a minor tear on my labia (or what the nurse referred to as "road rash") and wanted to be sure everything looked okay before we were intimate. I understand why people opt out if they didn't have any issues, but I wasn't taking the chance lol.
