Bf mom is a preacher..

I’m not a religious person myself, as I didn’t grow up that way. My boyfriend on the other hand, his family is religious. His dad was a bishop before he passed and now his mom is the pastor of the church. His mom, always makes comments that I need to be in church more, that I need to pay my tithes, offerings, that I need to have faith in Jesus and not doctors (bc I have very high blood pressure and my dr put me on meds to stabilize it), etc. I honestly find it very overwhelming. I cannot talk to my boyfriend about this, because he gets very defensive? I just think he’s stuck in the middle. I also find it very overwhelming to go to church because everyone is “speaking in tongues”.

Went to church yesterday, and while she was preaching about “not just being with any mate you can find, and love is more about pleasure, and love shouldn’t be “miserable””, she was looking at me the whole time. lol should I take this any sort of way?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years and have a little girl on the way.
