Did I do something wrong? 😂

My MIL always did little pampering gifts for the girls - me, my sister in law and my bil’s girlfriend. She did this for several years and then one year I told her, “thank you so much, I really enjoyed getting them because I loved the things in them”. (They weren’t necessarily things I’d spend money on myself but I loved having and using them! ) They’d have things like little perfumes and bubble bath and like face masks, you know things to relax and pamper yourself. Anyways, I said that and she was like “oh, That’s weird, it’s nothing. And I was like oh, well I still appreciate you gifting them. I love getting them!”

Anyways the next year we were opening gifts and she gave a pamper gift to my sister in law and the girlfriend but not me. She actually didn’t get me anything at all. She also usually did a like “couples gift” usually money in some cute way. That year the other two couples got theirs but ours was addressed only to my husband. We share all our finances so we both benefited, but it was just weird to me, it was like she went out of her way to exclude me….

I was a little hurt at the time over the lack of a pamper kit, especially after I’d expressed how much I enjoyed getting it. I’m just trying to get a feel for what to expect on Monday when we go to visit 😂 do you think it was a one off? Or did I somehow offend her with my thanks
