My child bless him has a wild imagination and now he is telling his teacher things that did not even happen. Today his school called to say that he told his teacher that I slapped him. I was shocked and speechless for a whole few seconds because where did he get that from? I have never in my whole life hit any child, not to talk of my own child. Matter of fact, I practice gentle parenting. I am sat here confused about why he says these things and what to do? I don’t even know how to speak to him about it. I worry about the likely implications of these stories that he makes up to people but surely at the age of 6, shouldn’t he have outgrown this behaviour? This is the part of gentle parenting that I don’t know what to do.
