Could this be a story post notification from that person or does this mean it’s a message from them? It’s his ex and I really hope it’s not a message because he told me they were toxic together

Idk, my IG notifications show up as what its for. Like "____ posted to their stories/started a live/ etc". If its a message it has the person's name and shows the message just like a text or Facebook Messeneger. It depends on what he has his settings as. Either way, if hes telling you he isnt dealing with her and still following her or getting notifications from her socials, thats a red flag.

It could be either or. He has his notifications blocked so it can really be anything involving insta. May be a message, a notification of a liked pic, comments, etc.
