Testing Anxiety
First time pregnancy, my husband and I went in for our first prenatal appointment at 10 weeks where I was then told to come back in three weeks to be tested for gestational diabetes. My concern is that my starting weight was a bit higher after a 15 pound weight loss in the last year. My BMI at pregnancy was 29 and starting weight was 135 lbs. My concern is that I know I’m supposed to be getting this test much later but yet I am getting tested very early and have been put on baby aspirin at the sonogram. I was told baby measured normal and everything seemed fine. So far in preparation, I’ve been monitoring my diet very closely and trying to avoid simple carbs and process sugars. Should I be worried that I’m getting tested so early? Is it a sign that I am may be a candidate for gestational diabetes?

(Currently at 12 weeks and only gained 4 lbs but major bloating)
