9 weeks but no ultra sound yet?

First pregnancy so I’m learning everything. I had my first appointment yesterday. I’m a new patient at the hospital. All they did was talk to me about my family history and what conditions the baby will be living in.  They did a urine test  to test for general infections but did not even check to see if I was pregnant? Is this normal?

That's normal. First appointment is usually an intake with your personal history and a urine and maybe blood test. Then I usually get referrals for first ultrasound between 8 and 12 weeks. Another ultrasound at 20. If there are any concerns you may get a 32ish week appointment

Youll likely have your first ultrasound around 12 weeks unless youre high risk or something is wrong. Did they check youre pregnant with your urine?

Usually typical. My first appointment when I found out I was pregnant, they did a urine test to confirm. They also attempted to do a vaginal ultrasound but couldn’t see anything as I was still extremely early. The next time I went in for an ultrasound was at 8 weeks and we saw the heartbeat and baby. I go back next week for blood work and another ultrasound and I’ll be 10 weeks. I think it just depends on your doctor and how they go about things.
