is this man cheating on his woman? should i believe him or her??

i met a guy on tinder about 2 months ago and we hooked up a few times in his bedroom. i’m not sure if i want this to develop into something more, but he’s showing interest and texting me all the time which seems cute. we’ve been calling everyday, and our meet ups are not purely just sex. we’ve gone out on dates a few times. i was wondering why every time i go into his bedroom, he has some things (only very few things) that are kind of feminine if that makes sense? like a small mascara travel size thing hanging in a bag and other things like that. i don’t know if i wanted to ask him, but i just asked him if he was in a relationship with a woman still and he flat out said not at all. did some investigating and found his facebook, and his profile picture was with another woman but i can see he hasn’t been active on facebook in a while?? found the profile of the girl in the photo and tried to send a friendly message saying

“hi i’m so sorry to bother you and i know this is going to come as a surprise so i really do apologize. i am not sure if —— is still you're boyfriend just going off what is on his facebook i’ve hooked up with him a few times and i did not know he had a girlfriend, i met him on tinder 2 months ago we were talking for2 months and we hooked up in his bedroom a few times. i decided to do more digging on him and then I found his facebook and came across the pictures of you guys and then found your facebook account i am truly sorry again”

she responded

“Hey, thank you for reaching out to me. I am not with ——— anymore and haven’t been for at least half a year. I moved out abruptly so some of my things are still with him and I don’t plan to go back to get them since I live far away now. Not sure if that caused your suspicions or that you just saw it from Facebook. I am not trying to paint ——— out as a bad guy because maybe he has changed, but I left because he was emotionally and physically abusive. I have forgiven him but it is up to him to change his ways. Just please, be careful and cautious. I have gotten similar messages like this from other women over the past 6 months asking if we are still together.”

i showed this interaction with him and he just told me that she was crazy and cheated on him and tried to smear his reputation after he took the fall at the end of the relationship but that he doesn’t have the proof because he deleted all of their messages to try to forget about their relationship.
