How long should a newborn be in the house?

After we get home, is it okay to walk outside? I have other kids and we walk and go in the backyard every day. Does this have to stop?

A walk outside is much different than a grocery store or mall run with a newborn. It’s also a cultural and personal preference. I say just do what you can live with.

I wasn't aware people would got for long periods of time without taking their baby outside. We took ours to town the first day we left the hospital (but I sat in the truck because I had a C-section).

I took a walk with my 1st newborn outside in the hospital garden a few hours after birth. Was a secure garden area for the maternity/L&D floor. Had her in my arms in a blanket and walked around for about 45 min until thwy wanted another uterus check lol. With baby 2 was a different hospital so no garden (plus was covid restrictions) but we got home the day after I gave birth at 1pm and took our newborn and older kiddo on a walk to the park we knew nobod is ever at. 4 days later I wore baby and did a 3 mile hike. As long as it is safe weather wise and all that and you feel up to it go for it. Couldn't imagine not being outdoors for longer than a few days at.most lol
