Is it weird to add big ticket items to a registry?

I’m wondering is it weird to add big ticket items such as stroller, car seat, or rocking chair to my baby registry? First time mom over here! I added those things as “group gifts” where people can contribute towards big ticket items, but I also don’t want to be rude. Thoughts?

I don’t think it’s weird at all. Personally I use my baby registry as a guideline of what I need so if someone chooses to buy a big ticket item, that’s great. If not it’s ok because then I know what I still need to buy. Luckily my family always loves coming together to buy the expensive items! They know it’s the items we need most and will get the most use out of.

My entire registry is expensive. I went with top rated brands for WFH moms, so many items are electronic making them more expensive, I also needed the items to match my house, most of the expensive brands had the neutrals I want (gives me anxiety if it doesn’t match). Older people like my mother and MIL suggested I be cost efficient for others, my younger family, siblings and cousins reminded me its not about others. The very large items like my diaper bag, my nursery, and stroller, I bought. The other large items I left for my immediate family because I have an understanding of what they were looking to spend.

As other people said, add it for the discount if nothing else. But you never know! With our first child a friend shocked us by buying our very expensive car seat! She said she had the means and wanted our baby to be safe.

I add them because I can potentially get a coupon code for them to buy myself and it can go towards the money spent to get the free registry gift box😂😂
I don’t expect anyone to get anything for us, but I add what I need so I know what I still need to get when the time comes.

Add them. If nothing is purchased, most registries offer a discount that you can buy these  items with discount. That is what I did for my stroller.
