Opera signing and pregnancy?!

This may be a quite strange question. But I am interested if I can still continue opera singing (or choir singing in general) while 6 weeks pregnant? This activity includes straining my diaphragm from time to time, so I am concerned if that may cause some issues. :)))

Yes! Go for it.  I sang and played trumpet through all my pregnancies.  Just listen to your body and rest when you need to.  Be prepared for changes in your range and breath control. Those were surprising to me!

Yes! Just listen to your body. I played in the wood wind section of a symphony orchestra till i was 8 months pregnant - then i felt i had no more breath to play with. Last thing we played was Verdis requiem, baby went bananas every time the brass and timpani played the louder parts.
