Provera question

Samantha

Soooo trying to make a long story short, when I was ttc my daughter I went through multiple miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, and endless issues with what was diagnosed as unexplained infertility. Anyways, I did end up successfully conceiving and had a baby girl a little over two years ago.

Fast forward to now, ttc baby #2, we wanted to try naturally for 6 months before talking to my doctor about using clomid or anything like that. I hadn’t gotten pregnant, but the first 3 cycles were all regular with positive opks. Now, on cycle 4, I still had a positive opk, but cycle day 47 and still no period and negative pregnancy tests….uhg!

Now to the actual question, I called my doctor today to talk to her about it, I spoke with her nurse and then they had to call me back.

In the time between that call and the next call I started spotting, which I assume will get heavier and be my period. When the nurse called me back she said my doctor was sending me in a prescription for Provera which would start my period. I told her about the spotting and she said I should still take the prescription.

Won’t Provera stop my bleeding if I take it now? She said it would just induce a period, but if I’m already starting I don’t want to mess things up even worse :(
