What are your thoughts on raising your baby on food stamps and welfare if you aren’t stable?

Is it ok to do that? I want to get pregnant when I can’t afford it because some people support when their baby is raised on food stamps, welfare and wic and if I wait too long then I won’t get pregnant so do you think it’s ok for me to try to get pregnant now and raise my baby on welfare and food stamps before it’s too late because of my age?

Food stamps & welfare isn’t going to give you financial stability & provide enough for you to raise a baby on. Focus on getting a better job first

If you want what’s best for your future child, not just want a baby, then you should wait until you’re financially stable. It’s selfish to have a kid knowing you can’t provide for it

My children lived their first ten or so year in very unstable homes. I would never intentionally choose that. Think about your potential child, not your own wants.

Why would you do that intentionally? Welfare doesn’t pay for all the necessities an infant NEEDS. You NEED to be financially stable BEFORE intentionally bringing a child into the world. WIC runs out when they are 5 in most states and doesn’t FULLY support everything your infant will need. It’s SUPPLEMENTAL. You will still have to purchase extra food, etc. Many states are cutting food stamps. 
If you cannot afford a child on your own right now don’t have one. It would be irresponsible.

You are asking is it ok to plan to bring a child into the world you know you can't support? No. You can do better than that. Government programs are not enough to get by on. You need a better plan.

I personally don’t think if you’re not somewhat financially stable, it’s very immature for one to try to have a baby and just having the state raise it. What if something happens to the child and needs medical care and u can’t afford it ? You’ll never get out of debt.

Rules have changed with food stamps in a lot of states. You still will have to work. They will only give it to you if you don't make enough. If you don't have your own place or bills you would be kicked off less than 6 months. 
Get your life together before bringing a child into this world.
