Having a hard time

I’m 36 and my husband and I have been trying to conceive baby number 3 for about 7 cycles. My cycles seem long and irregular now and it’s just not working. I keep getting positive and peak ovulation tests every cycle but then nothing. My kids are 3 and 5. The first one took 7 months to conceive, the second kid took 4 months. Idk I feel like time is running out for us. Should I just give up or is this pretty normal for my age? Looking for hope but also honesty. Thanks ladies and baby dust to you all.
