I don’t get it

My ex broke up with me and said he wants time apart.

But then today, a little over a week later, says we can start having sex again “once in a while”. He also told me he doesn’t think we’d be able to do it if we work together but he said he “doesn’t want to pressure me to quit so we’ll just see if one of us quits and then if something happens, it just wasn’t meant to be”. Then immediately follows up with how he doesn’t like me talking about me moving on or us being permanently over. The last comment probably weirds me out the most, but he said he doesn’t want to see me with anyone else.

Idk what to make of everything.
