Would it be crappy to announce your pregnancy on social media before telling family members?

Would it be messed up to announce a pregnancy on social media before telling family members first? I found out last month I’m pregnant and haven’t told anyone. I’ve had my first ultrasound already and know my due date. This is my 4th pregnancy and the only reason I haven’t announced it or told anybody is because my family is gonna be so negative about it. The last 3 times I announced a pregnancy to them I felt SO awkward and immediately regretted announcing because they always have the coldest reactions and say they aren’t happy for me or that I’m stupid for having another one etc etc. they always act like having another baby is this horrible life ruining thing. This baby was a complete surprise but I’m trying to be positive about it and happy. Part of me just wants to post the ultrasound pics on my social medias and turn my phone off to get it over with because I feel bad keeping this baby a secret over the reactions of other people but would that be messed up for them to all find out that way ? Either way they’re going to be mad so I kinda feel like the way they find out doesn’t even matter idk.

I don’t know why anyone will vote that it would be crappy, it’s your pregnancy and you can do what you want, especially if you haven’t gotten good reactions about it before. You’re not obligated to do anything  ￼￼

Honestly don’t get why people are voting it’s crappy when it’s literally your pregnancy. You can tell who you want, when you want and post your pregnancy announcement when you want to, there’s no right or wrong way of telling people about your pregnancy it’s your decision

I think you should do whatever makes you comfortable. I only think it’s “crappy” in the way that you may deal with more negative comments because they may be pissed they found out that way, but whatever - it’s your pregnancy and if they’re going to be negative either way, at least you don’t have to deal with it face to face. I 10000% get where you’re coming from. I’m 23 weeks pregnant with my fourth & have not told a single person in my family for this reason. 🫣 I know the longer I wait, the worse it will probably be, but I just don’t want to deal with the negativity. So do what works for you!!

By principle you can do what you want. Practically speaking, I think that will just invite MORE negative comments because now theres drama over that plus the pregnancy news, so it isnt like youre really avoiding telling them and wont solve your problem. I have 4 kids and just did a quick happy announcement by text. I didnt announce on social media, but if I wanted to I wouldve shortly after telling family.

If you don’t want negative feedback, then don’t do social media first. That will most likely cause more drama.
You can maybe text a pregnancy announcement so you don’t have to endure their ridicule in person then post that a few days later

Do whatever makes you comfortable momma. The only opinons that matter are yours,your children and partner. I hate that you are feeling so anxious when all you are suppose to feel is excitement and love. A friend of mines kept her 3rd pregnancy a secret. By the time she annouced, the baby was already born nobody had time to give her negative feedback because they were excited about the baby. I legit cried when she face timed me to annouce the baby had been born. I was super excited for her and couldnt wait to snuggle the newest edition to her expanding family. Congratulations mommy to be <3.
