Will I dilate more once my mucus plug comes out?

So yesterday I went in after 8 hours of prodromal labor and I was stuck at 1 1/2 cm and baby is engaged at station 1+. After I got home I started losing a lot of my mucus plug, no blood just lots of mucus. I’m wondering if now that the plug is coming out maybe I’ll dilate more? And will walking be more beneficial to help dilate me without the plug? I’m just exhausted and ready to get this kid moving especially after yesterday’s false alarm.

Nope. There is no way to know if you are dilating more. The plug alone doesn’t mean anything. It regenerates even if you lose the whole thing. 
Walking will help if your body is ready for labor.

Honestly if I were you, I’d rest for a while. 8 hours of “real” labor or not, you’ve gotta be exhausted. Take a while to yourself and put your feet up. Take a nap. Watch your favorite show. As far your mucus plug coming out, I’d say that’s a good sign as far as impending labor, but it can still take a while! Your body and your baby know what to do. Trust them 🩷 Take it easy on yourself mama, these next few hours/days are gonna be pretty tough on you 😅 I wish you the best, easiest, quickest labor, and I pray that you and baby are both happy and healthy after!!
