Elective ultrasounds

Is anyone choosing to get a first trimester elective ultrasound?

My old OB has retired and I’ve moved to a completely different area. I have a history of MC and my body typically does not pass pregnancies right away.

With my history and because of spotting, my OB would typically give me an ultrasound around 8 weeks, then another around 12ish, and then another around 20weeks and then another at the end around 35/37 weeks.

My current OB is planning on only having two ultrasounds, one at 11weeks and another around 20weeks. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks at the ER due to spotting, but I was under the impression that we’d do a follow up ultrasound with OB office around 8 weeks because that’s typically what my old OB would do.

I’m thinking of scheduling an elective ultrasound with a private company around 8 weeks just for peace of mind. Has anyone else gone this route?
