Is it weird that his “landlord” would text him so late?

I was just with this guy and around 11:25pm someone texted him so he said oh his landlord texted him asking him to pay the rent.. I thought it was weird for her to text at this time and isn't rent due on the first?? Idk how cool he is with his landlord he's renting a basement but I thought about it for like 20 seconds and then forgot about it but now I'm like hmmmm!??

also I been having trust issues with him because he's lied to me about where he's been n just his actions overall so idk if it's me or that actually sounds suspicious.

Im thinking what if it wasn't his landlord and he just lied to me... it was a quick response
