I’m dating this amazing guy; I would say a 9.0 out of 10 for over 3 years. He’s almost everything I need in a future or near future husband: caring, loving, respectful, supportive, humble, ambitious and hardworking.

But the 1.0 is what’s giving me doubts. Every time I bring up the idea or ask if he thinks about taking things further he’s mute; it’s like I’m talking to myself, he doesn’t want to tell me if he sees us beyond dating. He’s mentioned in our earlier dating days that he wants us to be serious because he sees us getting married but now I’m not so sure that’s where his mind is. If he wasn’t doing right by me it would have been easier for me to call it off but he’s so good to me, he puts me first, his family and friends know me but he just never mentions anything beyond our dating. We don’t have everything set to start a family but we’re trying together (I mean don’t everyone start from somewhere ?) We’re both working although he’s more into starting his own business which is yet to happen. He has mentioned before that he wants to make sure that we’re financially stable before we can think of holy matrimony.

I’m I overreacting to think maybe doesn’t have answers to my serious question because he doesn’t know how to tell me maybe I’m just good for a gf and nothing more? I tend to be pessimistic to avoid a heart attack if he actually plans to leave me like this.

Do guys do this to waste someone’s time while they already know what they want?

Like why is it so hard to tell me what he’s thinking about?

He’s a quiet guy but I don’t think being quiet applies here because I’ve been using this excuse for the longest time to cut him some slack.
