Just started and want to give up potty training 🫠

My son turned 2 in March (so I lost count how many months that is) and we are JUST starting potty training day 1 and I already want to give up. It doesn’t help that he woke up in the worst possible mood ever, throwing a tantrum for every single thing. So adding on the commands to, let’s go potty (which I also forgot that he’s someone that hates being told what to do 🫠) adds to the fire. All he’s done is pull his underwear down and sat on it and said “done” and went running away.

I’m feeling like it’s not going to work but i know we’re just starting. I’ll see how the day goes. But I’m already considering quitting and waiting until my oldest is back in school so that way I have more one on one time with him and he will be nearly 2.5, and because my oldest is already telling me she’s bored being at home 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠

(Edit: signs he was showing in which I thought he was ready—very interested in the potty; copying his sister when he sees her go potty by sitting on the toilet and pretending to wipe; telling us he wants potty when he’s already pooped or peed; he’s just been saying potty a lot and looking interested)
