TTC after excision surgery
So this will be a long one. I was diagnosed with endometriosis (Dr did not give it a stage) and that caused adhesions which ended in causing bilateral hydrosalpinx. First fertility specialist immediately said to remove my tubes and do IVF. I chose to go get a second opinion. Hormones tested were fine. Second Dr said she recommends surgery and said there were minimal risks to the surgery. She said it would have to be 2 surgeries because in the first surgery she would be applying gore-Tex (which is a wrap that prevents scarring to reoccur). 1st surgery was 5 hours long but she was successful in removing all of the adhesions and she said my tubes were in pristine condition after removing the scarring. 2nd surgery was to remove the gore-Tex. She said that everything was healing properly and there was plenty of healthy healing tissue. She has been very optimistic throughout the whole process and reassured me that pregnancy will be achieved within several months. My post op appointment was in April and I had already started my cycle. She cleared me to start trying again. She said if I don’t conceive within 6 months then she would like to see me again but she imagines that the issue would be hormonal and have nothing to do with the mechanism of my reproductive system. The advice she gave me was that it could potentially take around 3 months for my body to fully go back to “normal”.
Well here I am now 3 months later and still no positive test. I am supposed to start my cycle in 6 days and it all seems like AF will be here (trust me we’ve been busy). The things I’ve noticed after the surgery are first that my cycles are less heavy, painful and I pass less clots. Second is that I am fully ovulating, I get the confirmation with tests and self check. Lastly is that my CM is less noticeable.
So, my whole point of this is firstly to see if anyone is in the same boat as me and what advice you could have. Second is if you are ttc and have been diagnosed with bilateral hydrosalpinx there is a solution to it(even if you’re not ttc).
I have been feeling a little hopeless because I thought that after the surgery I’d be able to conceive.
