I’ve worked with a lot of piercers.1) soaking apple cider vinegar in a cotton ball and holding it over both sides of the piercing for 30 mins, twice a day! Hurts like a bitch, but will feel so much better!2) GET A FLAT BACK! Helps so much more!

I’ve switched to a saline thing I got when I got my lobes pierced instead of the antibacterial soap I was told to use, and I tried to put a flat back in but the bump is too big for the bar to go all the way through. When it goes down enough I’ll change it

When I had a bump and irritation occurring I was told by my piercer to get gauze and spray it so it’s fairly soaked in saline solution and put it in the microwave for 5 seconds. Hold it on your ear till it looses its heat. Just once a day but the heat will help soothe any pain and irritation and sanitize it as well. Be sure to dry it off with clean gauze after.

Go to the doctor. This type of infection can likely go to your brain. Much much too close to your noggin. Go get antibiotics. If they used a gun to pierce it and the cartilage shattered, it will likely keep getting infected. I had the same problem and.had to take it out and.let it heal closed. Always use a needle for these type of piercings! You need antibiotics though!!

Ive always used peroxcide and spin it. Once in the am once at pm. Dont forget to rinse with water after though. And keep the hair off it as much as possible. Thats what always infected mine, ive always had long hair when i was younger.

If you think it's infected then treat as suggested in aftercare. Which is usually: use a saline spray twice a day (spraying into the sink before applying to remove stale water in the nozzle) and don't remove the piercing as it can trap the infection in your ear. If it becomes swollen, hot, or painful go to a doctor.I just treated my cartilage earring that kept getting infected like every 3 months until it fully healed a year later. Cartilage piercings are a bitch to heal.
