Anyone have HPV?

Just found out i do today and wondering if its serious, if youve had any bad effects from it, etc. My doctors nurse called to tell me but couldn't answer my questions

I had it. I had to get whats called a LEEP procedure where they scrape off the abnormal cells from your cervix. It was a super fast procedure that I was awake up heavily numbed from the waist down and i barely felt more than a pinch. After the procedure, it pretty much all cleared up and went away on its own (which can happen even without the procedure depending on how bad it is). Set up an appointment with your actual doctor. They can give you way more information and answer all of your questions and set up a treatment plan.

HPV bad cervical cells usually clears on its own. Upon occasion you may need to have them scraped/removed, it's a simple procedure that takes maybe 10 mins. It *can* be dangerous if left untreated for many years, but thats rare. Prior to the vaccine over 80% of the population had HPV and it was considered pretty harmless, youll just need to be diligent about getting your pap tests to keep an eye on things and make sure bad cells arent persisting or spreading.
