Anyone dreading school starting?

I'm a stay at home mom and I also work from home. Taking my son to school in the morning and picking up is such a pain. Then there are all the germs he will pick up and bring home. Kid literally gets sick every other week with something and I'm not looking forward to it. I also ahve an almost 11 month old whos sleep schedule is awful. So when she picks up all these germs....it's gonna be hell. Sigh. Just wondering if anyone else feels my pain.

Yes definitely can relate. My fiancé takes the car to work and I work second shift, so I’m up late, have to be up early, live right across the street from the school, and I have two kids, one isn’t school age yet, but I have to get them both fed and dressed and get myself presentable so I can walk my son over and my daughter has to tag along, so it adds to the chaos trying to get out the door on time and the winter months are gonna suck. Last year I got lucky and my friend would drive my son over for most of the year, but not only did she have knee surgery a few months ago but I also don’t want her to feel like she’s committed to doing that forever cus she’s not, but I’m super not looking forward to walking over in the cold and snow. And not only are schools little disease factories so my son will be sick all the time, which in turn gets everyone else sick, especially me, but since it’s the end of the actual year I always have limited PTO but since it’s the beginning of the school year, his school has a million and one functions that you’re expected to attend that I end up having to miss because I don’t have the PTO to miss work, so my fiancé has to miss work and go but his job doesn’t even have PTO, he just simply doesn’t get paid, so he loses out on money. And it’s just a royal pain in the ass.  And then half days. Ughhhh half days are the worst because not only do I have to get him there but then I gotta wrangle my daughter up and walk over there with her to pick him up too and it throws a wrench in my morning because those 3 hours go by SO fast. I feel like I get home, I blink, and then I gotta turn right around again. But with all that being said, I’m excited for what this school year will bring. Last year was such a good year. He learned so much! He won student of the month. He made a bunch of friends. So I can’t wait to see how much he excels this year and to see and hear all the fun he has!! That makes it so worth it! (And it’s one less kiddo at home lol once my daughters in school too I’m not gonna know what to do with myself…I haven’t had more than a couple hours kid free since I became a mom…and work doesn’t count!)

We homeschool, not solely for that reason, but eliminating those things did improve our quality of life. I felt like half of what I told him was 'hurry up' eg 'hurry, cmon time to get up, hurry get your breakfast, hurry get your shoes, you cant be late again and get another tardy' like our lives revolved around school schedules, pick up, homework, and battling viruses all year.

None of that stuff I care about but I hate having my kids away during the day. I'd much rather them be at home with me because I miss them while they are gone lol. The driving and sick and all that doesnt bother me though. I make super fun lunches daily and love that task!!
