Need advice for my son after having cast removed.
My son who just turned 2 was playing on the trampoline about a month ago with his sisters. I know trampolines are not the best I have it because his sisters do competitive cheer and tumble they do not bounce when he gets on it. My youngest daughter decided to bounce him and he landed funny. I took him to the ER bc he was crying in pain they took x rays and said they didn’t see anything but doesn’t mean there isn’t something. Took him to orthopedics the next day t day they still didn’t see anything after their x rays but they wanted to cast him due to his limping and being concerned with growth plates. So they casted him up to his thigh. Which was fine. The way they casted him they casted him with his leg sideways and not straight forward even though he was sitting perfectly fine.
3 weeks later he developed a habit of walking sideways with he leg and knee turned out due to the cast. I went to get the cast removed and the dr took new x rays and said things looked good. He didn’t look me in the eye once. He showed me a huge break in his tibia near the ankle from his first x ray 3 weeks prior . Again the dr never looked me in the eye it was all strange. I asked how come this was missed the first time they had no answer. They said he looks good now and doesn’t need physical therapy bc he’s to young. Mind you my son has been to physical therapy when he was a baby due to not crawling.
I felt very brushed off. Now a week after removing the cast my son is walking with his leg and knee bent out and still limping. Other people I talked to said it was all odd and they removed a cast after a break within 3 weeks and they missed it the first time? It makes me wonder if they missed something again or why my son is walking this way? He can’t run like he used too. Idk should I get another opinion or just wait this out. Of course people have been filling my head with ideas saying it wasn’t casted correctly and they might have to rebreak his leg to straighten it back out. Has anyone else experienced this?
