Getting Pregnant at the age of 40

Hello everyone!

I want to ask if any of you got pregnant at 40+ years old for their first child without any treatmant? Can you please share your experience?

My story is like this. Back in February i went to a doctor, she examined me, run couple of tests etc. And she told us, it is still possible to get pregnant naturally, go try couple of monts, if you cant concieve, come back later.

Because of some issues, We just started trying last month, only one ovulation cycle. And today i got my period unfortunately.

Normally my cycle was 26 days, but for 5 months I'm having it like 24 days. This got me worried.

So, My question is, should we go to a fertility clinic ASAP, or should we try 2-3 months first?

(My general health is good, I've never smoked, never drink more than one glass every 1 - 2 months, I'm not overweight, never used any birth control pill, my periods were always regular)

PS: We live abroad in a small EU country, not our home country. Finding a trustworthy doctor and communicating, also receiving high quality healtcare is hard. I am really afraid of having a traumatic experience.
