What are your opinions on ghosting?

My son just turned 19. He went on a date over the weekend and I completely forgot about it until my husband asked him how it went and he said he ghosted her. He severely ghosted her. Said he had to go to the bathroom and left and then blocked her. He said he at least paid for the food so she wasn't left with the bill. I said that's wrong. His said "Well she freaken lied. She told me she was 20 and she's actually 32 and thought I wouldn't want to go on a date with her if I knew her age. She's right." My husband said "Oh. Well then that's okay. " I don't agree with ghosting. I think you should tell a woman Hey thats weird. I don't want to date you. Give her a reason. My husband said women ghost creepy guys all the time and lying about your age so significantly causes for a ghosting. I find ghosting so immature. My kid is 19 so he is immature. Curious of opinions on ghosting.

He made the right choice, getting himself out of the situation quickly and safely. That woman is a predator.

I wouldn’t say I don’t agree with ghosting, I think it’s circumstantial. If it’s a relationship that’s lasted months and you just disappear with no explanation, immature and not acceptable. In this case, she had it coming. He was at least decent and didn’t leave her with the bill.

A 32 year old woman lied in order to get a date with your teenage son and you're mad at him for ghosting her?.If the genders were reversed, you would've wanted your 19 year old daughter to get the hell out of the there and away from a lying 32 year old man, so why is this different? Sure, he could've just been honest before leaving, but I don't blame him for sneaking out. That's super uncomfortable. He paid the tab, which is more than that creepy lady deserved.

I don’t understand why it’s such a big deal for you. It doesn’t affect you at all lol. I’d bet if you had a daughter and she said she did the same thing because the man lied then you’d have no issue. Your son is an adult and can make his own life choices. He did what was right for him.

He doesn't owe her anything. She knows the reason. I think ghosting someone just to be rude or cruel is one thing, but ghosting someone who is actually a walking red flag is more than OK. ￼

Honestly, in this situation, I feel it’s ok. She lied about her age and that’s a big no no. Think about it this way, if he was older and she had lied and said she was older and was actually under age, would you still feel it was wrong?
