Would you punish your child for getting suspended?
My boyfriend's son got suspended from and is home during the day and my boyfriend isn't actually punishing him. Just letting him treat getting suspended like vacation. He got suspended for not listening to his teacher and walking out the classroom. He has been dealing with some bullying. This other kid is in his 4th 5th and 7th hour and he has picked on him since last year. My boyfriend took his son to get a haircut because this other kid cut off part of his hair with scissors. We've had talks with the parents. Talks with the school. Most teachers keep them separated. Another teacher was covering 6th hour for his usual teacher and tried to sit him by this kid. He said they're not supposed to sit by each other. She kept insisting he sit there and he said no and that if he does the kids going to bother him and not do anything. She demanded so he sat there. Kid started picking on him so he told the teacher. She told him to sit back down so he moved and she told him to move back and he said no. She asked again he said no. She said either move back or leave so he chose to leave. Got a two day suspension. My boyfriend hasn't actually treated it like suspension and just letting him enjoy his suspension. I don't want this to be a bad example about disrespecting authority. My boyfriend believes not all authority should be respected and he did the right thing.
